100,000 Meters Above Earth: How and Why ISTP SB RAS Scientists Study the Upper Atmosphere
Scientists from the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISTP SB RAS) have launched an experiment to measure the temperature of the Earth's upper atmosphere. To show how the research is carried out, they invited journalists to visit the site. A correspondent from Rossiyskaya Gazeta visited the Irkutsk Incoherent Scatter Radar (IISR) and discovered that, in fact, three separate experiments are being conducted simultaneously.
First Stage of Radar System Construction for NHC RAS Receives Approval
A new radar system, which is a subproject of the National Heliogeophysical Complex of the Russian Academy of Sciences (NHC RAS), has received approval for the first stage of construction. The project is being implemented by the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISTP SB RAS). The positive assessment was issued by Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
ISTP SB RAS hosts 15th Anniversary School Science Conference "Man and Space"
The Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics SB RAS hosted the XV scientific school conference "Man and Space". The event brought together young researchers from Irkutsk Oblast and the Republic of Buryatia, whose projects successfully passed the qualifying round.
