Siberian Radioheliograph Designated as a World-Class Large-Scale Research Facility

Constructed in the Badary area of Buryatia, on the site of the former Siberian Solar Radio Telescope (SSRT), the new Siberian Radioheliograph has been recognized by the Russian Academy of Sciences as one of the most significant domestic scientific achievements of 2025. According to a spokesperson for the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISTP) SB RAS, the instrument’s array of 528 antenna posts is globally unique in its combined specifications.

The facility is a part of the National Heliogeophysical Complex of RAS, currently being developed under ISTP SB RAS.
