Dmitri Klimushkin, head of the Research and Educational Center at the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics SB RAS, presented the first lecture in the series entitled “Faces of the Universe: Evolution of Ideas about the Physical Arrangement of the Universe” at the “Fire” Center for Contemporary Art. Titled "The Magical Universe of Myths," the lecture focused on how the earliest mythological ideas about the organization of the world and cosmos emerged in the first civilizations. Klimushkin provided an overview of cosmogonic myths and what ancient Egyptians and Babylonians knew about the structure of the universe.
