Through a detailed analysis of very high-energy particle observations from the most important heliophysics missions combined with ground based measurements, SPEcification, Analysis & Re-calibration of High Energy pArticle Data – SPEARHEAD will provide answers to three science questions:
How are ions and electrons accelerated to the highest energies in solar eruptions, beyond 100 MeV/n and 1 MeV, respectively?
What are the processes governing particle release from acceleration sites in the solar corona?
What are the key processes of high-energy particle transport in the interplanetary medium, in the magnetosphere and in the atmosphere?
To enable the scientific data analysis SPEARHEAD has three technical objectives:
– Develop and distribute analysis tools to extract high-energy particle fluxes from particle detectors designed to operate at lower energies or to yield monitoring data. Response functions of spacecraft instruments will be determined and particle fluxes of the very high energy particles as a function of time and energy will be delivered.– Process and cross-calibrate a large number of data to produce high-energy particle flux datasets and distribute them to the community.

– Validate the data against intermittent direct spectrometer observations.

Подробнее The year 2026 marks a pivotal juncture of continuity and transition, signifying our official entry into the final sprint toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, the global progress in implementing the SDGs is now characterized by unprecedented systematic and complex challenges, necessitating a broader scientific vision and more precise technological interventions. In recent years, digital technology has evolved from an «important tool» for SDG monitoring and evaluation into a «core engine» driving sustainable development. The explosive growth of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) has provided us with a «golden key» to unravel these complex systems.From 2021 to 2025, the International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development goals(FBAS), hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has been successfully held for five consecutive years. The sixth International Forum on Big Data for Sustainable Development goals will be held in Beijing from September 6 to 8, 2026. This forum will bring together top scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and practitioners from around the world to engage in diverse exchange activities, collectively exploring how digital technology can chart new pathways for sustainable development beyond 2030, injecting renewed momentum and wisdom into global sustainable development.
