UNIQUE INSTRUMENTS OF NHC RAS TO BECOME TOURIST ATTRACTIONS OF SCIENTIFIC VALLEY

Unique NHC RAS instruments for studying the Sun and near-Earth space, currently under construction in Buryatia and Irkutsk oblast, will eventually open their doors to visitors. The reasons behind scientists' enthusiasm about this initiative are shared by Andrey Medvedev, Director of ISTP SB RAS and Corresponding Member of RAS, during his interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Andrey Medvedev: "We're very much invested in this project," says Medvedev. "Research facilities require specialists to run them efficiently. By 2031, once all NHC RAS facilities are put into operation, we'll need to double our institute's personnel. How do we recruit 100 more researchers specializing in our area and another 400 highly-skilled engineers? We believe crucial to inspire young talent and guide them toward careers in science. To achieve this goal, we must show what kind of opportunities these advanced instruments offer. That's exactly where scientific tourism comes into play. Following the vision of Valery Falkov, Russia’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, top students from leading technical universities nationwide could visit here. This approach serves as both recognition and a hands-on opportunity to witness groundbreaking science in action.
