A project led by Irina Medvedeva, Candidate of Phys.-Mat. Sciences, a leading researcher at the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics, SB RAS, titled “Effects of Winter Sudden Stratospheric Warmings in the Upper Neutral Atmosphere and Ionosphere at Middle and High Latitudes: Diagnostics and Analysis” has been awarded a grant from the Russian Science Foundation. The two-year project will receive funding amounting to 1.5 million rubles for the year 2026. Approximately five thousand applications were submitted to the RSF competition “Fundamental and exploratory research by small research groups” As a result of expert evaluation, 1154 projects have been supported.
